Sapienza University (130,000 students) has extensive operational experience in the management of international university cooperation projects.
Erasmus programme allows for about 2,000 incoming and outgoing students to undertake mobility period in Europe, while bilateral networks of student exchange, financed by the University’s own funds support further internationalisation of university curricula. Its Leonardo mobility project was selected among the best 5 European projects in 2006 “Quality in Mobility Award” and as a case study for university-industry cooperation within a DAAD managed project financed by LLP programme in 2007.
Furthermore, Sapienza University has over 300 bilateral agreements for cultural and scientific cooperation
Sapienza University has an extensive range of international cooperation projects and actions, e.a. the participation (as a coordinator and as a partner) in the Framework Programmes 4/5/6/7 (Networks of Excellence, Integrated Programmes, Specific Targeted Research Projects and Specific Support Actions). Sapienza University is currently managing various 7° FP project. Among the measures taken by Sapienza University to encourage international scholar mobility, is the creation of a system of visiting professors, which allows teachers from our university to obtain funds to invite foreign scholars to take part in joint research projects.
